Putin signed a law on the transfer of biometrics to the system without the consent of citizens

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that provides for the possibility of transferring biometrics to a single system without obtaining the consent of citizens. The corresponding document is published on the official website of legal information.

According to the law, it becomes possible to transfer biometric personal data collected in information systems of financial and other organizations to a single biometric system (UBS) without obtaining the consent of the subject of personal data, but with mandatory notification. This is necessary to consolidate the regime of data circulation in state information systems in cases where their operators are private organizations operating within the framework of a public-private partnership or concession.
