Passenger car and LCV sales in Russia fell by 82% yoy in June

Sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV) in the Russian Federation in June 2022 decreased in annual terms by 5.6 times (by 82%), having increased by 14.4% compared to May of the current year, to 27,761 pieces, follows from the data of the Association of European Businesses (AEB).

In the first half of 2022, 370,228 cars were sold in the Russian Federation, which is 2.3 times (56.9%) less than in the same period in 2021.

For the fifth month in a row, the association does not provide an automotive press release with a commentary on the market situation, which was previously practiced on a monthly basis.

The AEB notes that the statistics published on Wednesday does not contain sales data for Chevrolet and Cadillac brands, since the American GM has not provided them since April.

June sales figures also exclude quarterly reports from BMW Group and Mercedes-Benz AG, as well as China’s Chery. The sales of these companies are given only in total figures for the half year.
